Condolences
We offer our deepest sympathy to Priscilla Englund on the death of her beloved husband Curt. Curt Englund passed into the presence of Jesus last Sunday, April 27th. Curt was a kind and gentle man who served the Lord in a variety of capacities throughout his long life of 85 years. Many will remember him as a "MOPS grandpa" pushing babies in strollers around the church and enjoying coffee with the other "grandpas". He will also be greatly missed by his many loving friends in the Ambassadors Bridge. A memorial service was held for Curt here at RWC this past Friday.
Congratulations to Navy Chaplain Don Tak who was recently promoted from Lieutenant Junior Grade (LTJG) to a full Lieutenant (LT)! Don is back in town this week; if you wish to get in touch with him, call his (Verizon) cell phone (805) 276-7203.

Coming to an area near you…ROAD CONSTRUCTION!
Some say there are only 2 seasons in Minnesota…winter and road construction! Beginning tomorrow, May 5th, crews will begin working on Ridgewood Road from Highway 101 west to Sparrow Road. Consequently, the 2 entrances to our church off of Ridgewood Road will be limited. The city has given us permission to turn left (north) out of our parking lot onto Highway 101 (east entrance), but we ask that you use extra caution coming in and out of the church off of Highway 101 in the coming weeks.
PICTURE DIRECTORY
Our church is going to publish a new pictorial directory. Olan Mills will be here to take pictures the last week of May and the first week of June. If you have not yet reserved a time to be photographed, be sure to stop by the Olan Mills display in the lobby today while there is still a good selection of appointments. Our goal is 100% participation – it just won’t be complete without you!
A bridal shower honoring Jenna Quist will be held this Thursday, May 8th at 7:00pm in the Fireside Room. Jenna and her fiancé are registered at Crate & Barrel, Target, and Macys.

Get Away 2008 at Trout Lake Camp
Registration continues today for the annual all-church retreat up at Trout Lake Camp in Pine River, MN. The dates are Friday, May 23rd-Sunday, May 25th. A variety of lodging options are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Don’t put it off – stop by the Children’s Ministry Booth in the lobby today! Your help is needed for Planting Day – Saturday, May 17th
Four thousand six hundred and sixty-two (4,662) flowers will be waiting to be planted early Saturday morning, May 17th! Everyone is invited to come and help plant the church flowers beds that we admire all summer long. Lunch will also be provided. NO SUPERVISION NEEDED – SET YOUR OWN HOURS – WORK AT YOUR OWN PACE – Individuals are needed this week to prepare the church gardens for Planting Day on the 17th. URBAN VENTURES Donations
Urban Ventures kindly requests that our clothing donations be seasonal only – they simply do not have the space to store fall/winter clothing. Donations can be placed in the storage shed located in the church’s south parking lot.

MEN’S MINISTRIES
Mom’s Night Off – Location Change
Now that spring has sprung, instead of meeting in our church gym each Thursday at 6:00pm, Dads and their kids should meet at the Alice Smith Elementary School playground in Hopkins. The school is located just off Highway 7 (south side), east of Hopkins Crossroads, and across from the Eisenhower Community Center. See John Bogle for questions or directions.

YOUTH MINISTRIES ~ Jr. & Sr. High
9:15am Sundays meet in the gym for worship and an in depth look at what God has to say to Christian students about loving God, loving others and making disciples of Jesus Christ.
Youth Group - Wednesday nights
• Jr. High (grade 6-8) meets in the RWC gym at 6:00pm for organized chaos (dodge ball) and then moves to the Youth Room at 6:30pm for small groups, games, and worship.
• Sr. High (grades 9-12) meets at Slavik Baptist Church in Minnetonka. Pick up the shuttle at 6:30pm from Ridgewood or go directly to Slavik Baptist as early as 6:15pm for hang out time, open gym, homework, etc.
Pizza Party for (current) 8th Graders & Parents TODAY at 5:30pm in Room 204. Come hang out, play some games and learn more about the next year of youth ministry as you join the Sr. High!
IMPORTANT Reminder for Graduating Seniors
Graduation Recognition Sunday is coming up on May 18th. You should have already contacted Pastor John to be included in the recognition that morning. The office needs your photos and info ASAP for the slide show. You also need to RSVP to John by May 14th regarding the BBQ at Keenans on the evening of the 18th. SONSHINE CHILDREN’S MINISTRIES
“Plant a Seed of Faith”
Thank you to all those who have signed up to help in the area of Children’s Ministries this fall. There are still many opportunities left! Please consider signing up soon - we want to fill the spots now, before summer comes and it becomes more difficult to contact people. Take a moment to stop by the “Plant a Seed of Faith” display in the lobby.

Summer Help Needed
Our Sunday school teachers who have been in the class all year would like the summer off. Martha Keenan needs several volunteers from High school age through 90 year olds to be loving caring leaders in the Pre-School classes, beginning June 8th. Sign up sheets are available near the “Plant a Seed of Faith” display in the lobby.

Thank you to all who have contributed to our empty paper towel & toilet paper tube collection (for Day Camp) so far! We now only need PAPER TOWEL tubes, so don’t forget to “save those tubes” and bring them to church with you - we are collecting them in the front office. Thank you!
